Privacy Policy
Effective September 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Farther Shore LLC, a Washington limited liability company (“Farther Shore,” “we,” or “us”), collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use our website at farthershore.ai, our web and software-as-a-service applications, our iOS and Android mobile apps, and other services that link to this policy (together, the “Services”). Some Services may have a supplemental privacy notice, which applies together with this policy.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information, such as your name, email address, password, and profile details.
- Your content, such as text, files, images, audio, AI prompts, and anything else you create, upload, or share through the Services (“Your Content”).
- Communications, such as messages you send us, survey responses, newsletter sign-ups, and consulting inquiries, including your contact details, organization, and role.
- Payment information. When you buy directly from us, our payment processor collects your card details. We receive only limited information, such as your billing name, the last four digits of your card, and transaction details.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information, such as device type, operating system, browser, app version, IP address, language, device identifiers, pages and screens viewed, features used, and the dates and times of your activity.
- Log and diagnostic information, such as crash reports, error logs, and performance data.
- Approximate location, inferred from your IP address. We collect precise location only if a Service needs it and you grant permission on your device.
- Cookies and similar technologies, such as cookies, local storage, and software development kits, which keep you signed in, remember your preferences, help us understand how the Services are used, and keep them secure.
Information from third parties
- Sign-in providers. If you sign in with Apple, Google, or another provider, we receive information such as your name and email address. Sign in with Apple lets you hide your email address from us.
- App stores. Apple and Google tell us about your in-app purchases and subscriptions, such as purchase and renewal status, but not your full payment card details.
- Payment processors, which provide transaction confirmations and fraud-prevention signals.
- Organizations. If your school, employer, or another organization gives you access to a Service, it may provide information such as your name, email address, and role.
How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide and operate the Services, including your account, Your Content, and AI features.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions.
- Communicate with you, including service messages, responses to your requests, and, where permitted, updates and marketing you can unsubscribe from at any time.
- Understand how the Services are used, fix problems, and develop new features.
- Protect the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Carry out other purposes we describe when we collect information or with your consent.
We may also create de-identified or aggregated information that can no longer reasonably identify you. We will not attempt to re-identify it.
AI Features
Some Services include features powered by artificial intelligence.
- Third-party AI providers. When you use an AI feature, your inputs, and any account context needed to fulfill your request, are sent to third-party AI model providers. They act as our service providers and process this information on our behalf only to generate output for you. We use providers whose terms prohibit them from using this information to train their own models, though they may retain it briefly under their terms, for example to monitor for abuse.
- Your permission. Where the law or app store rules require it, we will tell you within the Service when an AI feature sends personal information to a third-party provider and ask for your permission first.
- No training without consent. We do not use Your Content, including AI inputs and outputs, to train or fine-tune AI models made available to others unless you consent. We may use it to provide the feature to you, troubleshoot problems, keep the feature safe, and enforce our Terms.
- Think before you share. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information to AI features unless a feature is designed for it.
How We Share Information
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers that help us run the Services, such as hosting, AI model providers, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, email delivery, and payment processing. They may use it only to provide services to us, under confidentiality and security obligations.
- App stores, such as Apple and Google, to distribute our apps and process in-app purchases.
- Your organization, if you access a Service through a school, employer, or other organization, as provided in our agreement with it.
- Others at your direction or with your consent, such as when you share content with other users or connect a third-party integration.
- Authorities and others for legal and safety reasons, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, protect the rights, property, or safety of Farther Shore, our users, or others, or detect and prevent fraud or security issues.
- A successor, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business. The successor will remain bound by this policy for the information transferred.
No selling and no targeted advertising
We do not sell personal information or “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and provide any required opt-out or consent choice first.
Consulting Clients and Organizations
When we provide consulting services, or when a school or other organization provides a Service to its students, staff, or members, we may process personal information on that client’s behalf. In those cases we act as a service provider or processor, and our agreement with the client governs that information rather than this policy. If a client provided your information to us, please direct privacy questions to that client first. This policy does apply to business contact information we collect from our clients and prospective clients.
Data Retention
We keep personal information while your account is active and as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, then delete or de-identify it. We may keep some information longer to meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our agreements. Residual copies in backups are deleted on our regular backup cycle.
Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account at any time:
- In the app. Where available, open your account settings in the app or web application and choose the option to delete your account.
- By email. Email privacy@farthershore.ai from the address associated with your account.
We will then delete or de-identify your account and associated personal information within a reasonable time, except information we must keep as described under Data Retention.
Deleting your account or the app does not cancel subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Please cancel those in your Apple or Google account settings. If a school or other organization provided your account, you may need to ask that organization to delete it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, such as encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent or, where the law permits, authorization from their school.
If a school or other educational institution provides a Service to students under 13, the institution may consent on behalf of parents where the law allows. Our agreement with the institution then governs that information, and we use it only to provide the Service for the institution’s educational purposes, never for advertising. Parents can contact the institution or us to review or delete their child’s information.
If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will delete it. If you believe this has happened, contact privacy@farthershore.ai.
Your Rights and Choices
Everyday choices
- Account information. You can update much of your information in your account settings.
- Marketing emails. You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email. We will still send service messages, such as receipts and security notices.
- Notifications and permissions. You can manage notifications and access to your camera, microphone, photos, and location in your device settings.
- Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, and subject to legal exceptions, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and learn how we use and share it.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete your personal information.
- Port your personal information, meaning receive a copy in a portable format.
- Opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not engage in these activities.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it.
- Appeal our decision on your request.
We honor these requests as required by law and aim to honor reasonable requests from all users, wherever they live. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, such as by denying you service or charging you a different price.
U.S. state privacy laws
Residents of California and other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws have the rights described above. Washington residents also have rights regarding consumer health data, described below. In the past 12 months, we collected these categories of personal information, as described in this policy: identifiers, customer records, commercial information, internet and app activity, approximate geolocation, audio or visual information you upload, professional information, and inferences about your preferences. The only sensitive personal information we collect is account login credentials, which we use only to provide the Services. Although we do not sell or share personal information, we treat Global Privacy Control signals as a valid opt-out request where the law requires.
EEA and UK residents
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Farther Shore LLC is the controller of your personal information, except where we act for a client or organization as described above. We rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Services, where not overridden by your rights; your consent, which you may withdraw at any time; and compliance with legal obligations. You may also restrict or object to our processing, including for direct marketing, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
How to make a request
Email privacy@farthershore.ai and tell us what you would like us to do. We will verify your identity before acting, usually by confirming you control the email address on your account. An authorized agent may submit a request with proof that you authorized them. We will respond within the time required by law.
If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing privacy@farthershore.ai with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.” If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your appeal, you may contact your state attorney general or data protection authority.
Washington Consumer Health Data
We do not intend to collect “consumer health data” as defined by Washington’s My Health My Data Act or similar state laws. If a particular Service ever collects consumer health data, we will provide a separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy for that Service and obtain any required consent before collecting it.
International Transfers
Farther Shore is based in the United States, and we and our service providers may process and store personal information in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and their UK equivalent.
Third-Party Links and Services
The Services may link to or integrate with services operated by others, such as sign-in providers and app stores. Their privacy policies, not this one, govern their handling of your information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will update the Effective Date when we do. If we make material changes, we will notify you in advance through the Services or by email, and we will ask for your consent where the law requires.
